Hanging Leather Razor Strops - Singles and Doubles

These hanging leather strops are currently in stock - others can be made to special order (email me for a quote).  Only the finest materials are used, such as:

• Heavyweight Black or Burgundy Red Latigo Leather, naturally oiled during manufacture, strong and supple.
• Vegetable Tanned Cowhide: natural tan colour, great surface for treating with powders and pastes or used as-is.
• English Bridle Leather - strong and not as flexible as either of the above.  Slick, with a very light draw.
• Heavy Duty Cotton - in two widths only the 3" wide is tubular woven, very strong, the 2" wide is flat woven.
• 100% Natural Hard Wool Felt - a great alternative to cotton, 6mm thick and very dense,  Ideal for pastes and powders.

Handles are 100% leather (cowhide, goatskin, shagreen/stingray), stitched and hard-stuffed with natural kapok just like the old-style strops, giving a good, comfortable grip.

Strops are available in a number of different widths, from 2" to 3" - see individual listings for details.  Custom widths and lengths are available to special order.

 

Please note that the leathers are hand-worked and like all natural items they may have small signs of work and/or traces of light marks: these are not considered defects of faults as each panel is chosen expressly for use on a straight razor without damaging the very fragile edge.  I make prototypes of all the strops I sell and thoroughly test them, so I know what will and what will not affect or compromise performance - those that don't pass are discarded!
