Single Cowhide Leather Stropping Panel for Magnetic Paddle Strop

This is a single (ie one) stropping panel made from leather that has undergone anatural vegetable tannage which has left it soft and supple.  It has enough draw to sharpen a razor, but may be conditioned with neatsfoot oil, dovo yellow paste or similar to increase the draw.  The leather varies a lot in appearance - some of it has an almost marbled pattern, some is very fair and white.  It has a slightly pronounced grain, but this does not interfere with stropping.  Because of the absorbent and open texture of this leather it is quite suitable for pastes or powders.  The panel measures 300mm x 70mm.  It has a special thin flexible ferrous backing that allows it to be fitted easily, quickly and securely  to the magnetic paddle strop frames.  On average, each panel is about 4mm thick - some are thinner, some are thicker. 

Note that some of the photos show a number of panels - this is only to show slight differences between panels - the price is for one single panel only - to use both sides of the magnetic paddle, you will require two stropping panels.

Each panel has had the edges chamfered and has a light pinstripe.

Note that these are natural products, hand-cut, bevelled and striped, and may show some light surface marks and other irregularities - none of which will affect the panels ability to produce a fine edge on a razor.  Each one has been hand selected by me and closely inspected.
